All I want to do is climb, elevate. Here in Kwabahal Boutique Hostel, I ifnd a new home, a new love. I leave behind me everything, and only now have the memory to share. Breath. It's one step at a time from here. We met in one of the last jiu jitsu classes in the hostel, before opening the new gym in Xela. It's my tendency to fall in love easily, though, people may not believe it. It's mostly childlike, to be honest. I love everything, and I am not afraid to say it in those words, even if it is to a group of strangers that I have only just spent a few moments with; although, it is a very humbling moment when others can ask me, "Do you really mean it?" The Lunches prepared by the guides were great, however, the same standards need to be held for the volunteers themselves, who are dedicating their lives to this way of life, and the purpose of the nonprofit, which is to fund Escuela de la Calle, an educational group dedicated to the youth of this area. The nature was beautiful, can we encourage using the ability of this group, Quetzaltrekkers, for the pick-up of trash, and better waste management? This is not only an advocacy for the volunteers and their wuality of life, but for that of the hikers who not only represent their countries of origin, but become Guatemalan Representatives, as well. Never letting negative energy bring you down, embracing the Yin & the Yang There's a guitar on base (we are at Goddard College for now!) & the owner, who is an awesome volunteer from Brooklyn (?) and she told me some stories from her time volunteering in Turkey, how they spent days sometimes underneath tarps and in tents as it rained.. and she is cool enough to let me use it whenever ♡ It's my fourth day in my second program with All Hands and Hearts, and I set my intention every morning to be love, throughout this 6 day work week. Looking forward to August 24th, and going back to help out the program in Fort Myers, Florida, for their remainder weeks in Camp Caloosa. I'm really grateful for this time, missing my long hair. But, getting to know my spirit every day, as a kind and gentle being.. Oh my goodness.
