Living Life Moment by Moment

(07/12/2026) Life became so domestic and I love it. The ups and downs are that for me a part of life but I'm so grateful for every step towards success in this mission! Now that I have taken my education abtoad and am studying with the Newlane University course program for a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts to support my Master's in Nonprofit Management at the University of Houston Downtown, and a future PhD and RH degree in yoga and herbal medicine to support a clinic here in Guatemala. I'm so grateful to also share that I will be competing this year instead in the 11th Annual Yoga World Championship! November 8th, I will showcase 6 postures from the IYF Approved List and I will be representing the school Yoga House in Xela, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, as a Guatemalan competitor. Although I live in San Pablo la Laguna, Atitlán, Guatemala and am in the process of completing my citizenship, I have learned everything I know essentially from Kevin Smith and his Ashtanga and Hatha classes, and have continued my education online with Aura Wellness 200 hour teacher certification course as well as the National Association of Sports and Medicine's online Fitness Trainer and MMA Expert Instructor course, and train here in San Marcos-San Pablo la Laguna, very similarly to how I learned to do while visiting my grandmother's cabin in El Xab, Guatemala while living in Quetzaltenango and training at Yoga House. I'm very grateful for the progress I have made and recently I have recovered from a pinched nerve and swollen knee, but have just done the first 3 mile in 30 minute session in a month since being back in Guatemala with my love and boyfriend Paco Savino

Visiting Houston was fun. I had the opportunity to help teach a kid's Brazilian jiu jitsu class at Renzo Gracie Eado and essentially audition for a work study exchange program with their BJJ program this winter! My boyfriend and I came to Guatemala together after the whole bankruptcy of Spirit Airlines canceled our flights and we stayed an extra two weeks, and aside from the fun experiences we had in Houston, we are happy for the tranquil and healthy life that our beautiful garden brings us here in our cabin on the lake. We are happy to be reunited with our dogs and now that my knee is better I am so excited to climb another volcano this year! San Pedro Volcano here we come, at 3020 meters. I love being an inspiration for the artwork of Paco and I have enjoyed his cooking while he opened El Maximón Trattoria! Bringing authentic Italian fast food to Lake Atitlán, and even providing its own late night online delivery service, Perdido Pacheco. It's so cool to see him building his website and service, but trying the cooking and even getting to help with the recipes has been so much fun.

I have had to reroute my plans to climb the 6000-7000 meter mountains of South America and Nepal this year in preparation of summitting Mount Everest, but I'm not giving up! I have to find the balance of support from my family and partner, and my ability to do this while looking for sponsors and building my own business surrounding what I love, first aid and wilderness exploration. That is why I am using my First Aid & CPR Training Instructor Certification to start offering basic first aid courses to hikers and facilities around the world, including here in Lake Atitlán, Guatemala, through my nonprofit organization EarthThreads International I hope to partner with the American Red Cross in order to provide first aid certifications as well as continud with the courses they offer in order to advance my understanding of humanitarian aid work and basic first aid response in various situations. Stay tuned for our websites and flyers! It is so much to look forward to, and I am just so happy and grateful for the moments I share with my loved one and our beloved dogs here in our beautiful home on Lake Atitlán. 🌺
