Since I can remember

Image
Since I can remember, I have had the urge to show kindness. Meeting a group of Tibetan monks inspired me to take a path that would lead me to understanding compassion, and leading a life that was mindfully disciplined. Because of this, I believe at a young age I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to non-profit work. From my early studies as an elementary and middle school student in the early 2000s, I became very familiar with human injustice and environmental impact. Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, I grew up with a very strong sense of civil rights. When I moved to Houston, the influence that my Latino Roots had did not diminish that sense of Justice and equality over a state change. After having a "hero's experience" in Atlanta and saving a fellow friend's life during a swimming party, during high school, A few years after moving to Texas, and living on the Gulf Coast, I decided that I wanted to become a lifeguard so that I could be trained in aquatic safety an...

Our Story - As We Evolve

Image
EarthThreads International & the Camiji Foundation were founded in 2019 in memory of my good friend MacKenzie Dean Cunningham, and inspired by his dear family friend Dr. Simba Tirima and the TerraForm project in Kenya. EarthThreads International is a non-profit originally imagined in 2007, when I was 10 years old. Befriending the Tibetan Monks/University Students who lived in my neighborhood inspired a lifestyle of discipline & serving others. EarthThreads is a platform for proposing solutions for important social & environmental issues, in order to advocate for the establishment of legislation protecting human rights, local communities, & to help build a global community that stands for change, awareness, & sustainability, in the 21st century. EarthThreads International has hosted yearly fundraising projects under the Camiji Foundation for charity organizations such as Polaris Project: Anti-Human-Trafficking, Star of Hope Mission: Women's Family  Sh...

Living Life Moment by Moment

Image
(07/12/2026) Life became so domestic and I love it. The ups and downs are that for me a part of life but I'm so grateful for every step towards success in this mission! Now that I have taken my education abroad and am studying with the Newlane University course program for a Bachelor's in Liberal Arts to support my Master's in Nonprofit Management at the University of Houston Downtown , and a future PhD and RH degree in yoga and herbal medicine to support a clinic here in Guatemala. I'm so grateful to also share that I will be competing this year instead in the 11th Annual Yoga World Championship! November 8th, I will showcase 6 postures from the IYF Approved List and I will be representing the school Yoga House in Xela, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala, as a Guatemalan competitor. Although I live in San Pablo la Laguna, Atitlán, Guatemala and am in the process of completing my citizenship, I have learned everything I know essentially from...

"Little-by-Little": Our Fundraising Goal

Image
(AI Generated Cartoon of my 2024 Volcán Tacana Expedition) Every your journey begins with a single step. Help us take ours as we venture into the world developing humanitarian projects, aimed towards environmental sustainability, supporting the Arts, and sharing the message of world peace and equal rights.  Help me fulfill my lifelong dream to help provide solutions for the world's biggest environmental and human rights issues while sharing conscious mindfulness and holistic lifestyle practices.  Every year since 2019 we have dedicated ourselves to one annual charity project & fundraising event, as a commitment to a 10-year startup in the new millennium.  Now that we have our 501c3, we look forward to applying for grants and sponsorships in order to fund our cleanup projects and World development initiatives.  Our mission is to help make the world a better place, little by little step-by-step, being the change we wish to see, and that is the dream for...

How it's been going, traveling the world

Image
(February 2026) I was in San Marcos la Laguna going to Urban Circus International aerial silk and lyra courses and playing Open Mics. The money came through, so I climbed Volcán Atitlán and camped overnight, and after went to Ecuador to find a guide for an upcoming trek to summit Chimborazo, the second highest peak in South America, and train at high altitude. After training the the volcanos of Guatemala and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, I feel confident with this guide, I will successfully summit Chimborazo. I enjoyed a nice theater experience in Quito and good food. I went back to San Marcos la Laguna to be with my love and to bring him with me. We flew through Lima because it was cheap and made a trip out of it. We're on our way to Huayna Picchu. He's an amazing artist. Nearly acclaimed, and internationally recognized. He's also a tattoo artist. I don't have any tattoos, but I love his. Anyways, I'm in contact with a guide and ready to pay for this Chimborazo ...

How It All Went Down

Image
(Photo: January 2025 - Machu Pichu Parque Arceologico, Peru) (Photo: Surf School 📸 La Serena, Chile - January 2025) When I'm in Houston Texas, I'm happy. The city is big, but the name is still associated with a small town. I love living there. There's work and you can meet just about anyone anywhere you go. But, I always am dreaming of the next adventure. I ended up not going to Aconcagua this year. My sponsor fell through and I used the money that I had to travel to Machu Picchu instead. It was an amazing journey. I saw the red sand dunes of the Atacama Desert. I surfed in the small town of La Serena while working as a gardener for the Arbol Hostel and Glamping center. I fell in love with the journey and found strength within myself that I feel only sets the stepping stones for future adventures. My love for my partner and my best friend grew stronger and vanished all at the same time. I had to face the reality that I was not going to live a conventional life,...

Training in Guatemala

Image
So far, Xela is my home base. I train Ashtanga pretty much everyday, at 2,330 meters. Mondays and Wednesdays I go to grapple for two hours, and maybe add an evening Hatha class, though, because I've been trekking on Saturdays, sometimes I just eat and sleep. I'm trying to break that habit, and wake up early. Today, 2 minutes in, is my 28th birthday, and Christmas Eve.  I have to take a 7am bus to the Retalhuleu Department to spend Christmas with my grandma and my cousins in her village. She makes Christmas tamales and sometimes they make this amazing broccoli lasagna I love. It's always been a special day for me, but as I come to know myself more spiritually and closely, I realize day may not be so much about what it means, but who I am. Who I am for others, for myself, for my family.. I've always felt a connection with the world around me. But, because of this profound connection, I have always felt kind of a bit dissonant from it as well. Always looking fr...

South America Bound

Image
Today marks one week before I make my way to Argentina through Guatemala, in an attempt to summit Central and South America's tallest peaks.  My goal for 14 Peaks for World Peace is to advocate for World Peace and environmental awareness in order to provide a world where quality of life is prioritized for everyone, equally, and basic resources are accessible to anyone, non-discriminatively.  I believe it is our right as an International community to achieve World Peace and to live in a world world where we and our children can prioritize the health of our planet and of ourselves.  Along with the 14 Peaks for World Peace project, where I will attempt to summit the world's tallest mountains, me and my team will be coordinating garden projects around the world to promote pollinator populations as well as tackling the issue of world hunger. By bringing awareness to food insecurity and how carbon emissions and plastic waste are affecting the world's natural populat...

2024 Codesh Ministry's Collaboration: Living in Xelaju

Image
My life's work is dedicated to helping others. It is why I hope to take my non-profit onto an international platform. Peace in Palestine is one of my greatest dreams, and I hope to one day be a volunteer on the ground that helps the people of Palestine when they rebuild after this horrible war. This year's charity project has been epic, to say the least. I learned a lot. It was difficult being able to coordinate with n unplanned group of that size, however, where there is a will, there is a way.  Our first step was going to be cleaning the trails of Santa Maria Volcano. Unfortanely, due to the rainy season, we could not collect plasti  bottles from the mountain trail, with the scouts troop of San Augustin, Quetzaltenango. Like I said, where there is a will, there is a way. I collected bottles from around my apartment in Xela, Quetzaltenango, and when I visit my grandmother, luckily and by chance, this beautiful woman had so many plastic bottles that she was going to thr...

Summiting the world's tallest peaks

Image
While living in Xela, Guatemala, I appreciate the opporunity to continue my MMA and yoga training at a humble  altitude of 2,330 meters! As the rain clears, I look forward to enjoying another day hike atop Santa Maria Volcano and Acatenango. Just getting my steps in! I hope to return to the states for a season in order to earn the funds necessary to begin summitting at altitudes of 6,000 and 7,000 meters in South America and in Tanzania. In the mean time, I plan on returning back to Nepal in order to complete the Langtang Valley and Tamang Treks! Between you and me, I also hope to hike the Great Himilayan Trail with my good buddy, and possibly even the Anapurna circuit, for a total of 3 months out in the Himilayan wilderness. This, friends, is a humble and simple venture that I look forward to doing as minimally as possible. I love to spend time in nature, and I would like the opportunity to familiarize myself with the northern Nepali border, as well as to meditate deep in t...
